Mrs S – Far North Dallas Boudoir Sneak Peek

You would think an all-day session would be plenty of time to get through any and every idea and outfit, but you would be wrong!
Mrs. S got here at 9:30 for hair and makeup (by the always wonderful Megan, of MegYen Beauty). Mandi, my new right-hand woman, came to style for us; because of her assistance we were able to get through many more outfits/set-changes than we anticipated, and the outfits themselves were well-coordinated and accessorized. (She is sooo great! She brings her own things and pairs them with yours, and then watches for out-of-place hairs and thins while we’re shooting. She fluffs, she straightens, she holds reflectors—she seriously does it all. Did I mention that I never want to do a shoot without her again??
Aside from bathroom breaks and our mid-afternoon break (for some chips and my homemade salsa-yummm!), we worked straight through until almost 5:00 pm. (We still had a couple of things we wanted to do, but Mrs. S was out of time, so we’ll just have to do another session later….) I know I’m achy today, so I can only imagine how Mrs. S is feeling after all her stretching, twisting, arching, and bending!
Funniest moment, after a few hours of, “That’s great! Now: chin down, forehead left, look over here—no, wait: over here…. Push your shoulder down for me… more…. and bring your left knee forward, let me fix that hair… point your toes, fingers relaxed, soften that elbow… now, arch!:
Me: Oh, let me shoot that, it looks perfect, just how you are!
Mrs. S, laughingly: Yeah, we’ll see about that—seems I’ve heard that before…!
(But it was worth it, right Mrs. S?)

Indoor/Outdoor Dallas Boudoir Session – with a motorcycle!

Well, we used the motorcycle on the outdoor part, anyway….
This was my first session using a wardrobe stylist. Her name is Mandi, (Mandelin Bartholomew) and let me tell you I’m fairly certain I’m addicted. She had coordinated outfits spread all over one bedroom with accessories covering every available surface—it was wonderful! Seriously, I want her with me on pretty much every shoot, in future, so watch for my prices being adjusted so I can have her. ; )
For makeup and hair we had the always amazing Megan, of MegYen Beauty taking care of things. She worked her magic, stayed a bit to make sure everything held up, then left us to our shoot.
Funniest moment:
We’ve finished with our photos, and I decided to go get a few shots of just the motorcycle, while Mandi and Mrs. T are inside cleaning up. As I’m circling the bike, I hear, “Moooom, he’s home!” followed almost immediately by the sound of a motorcycle. I high-tail it into the house, and Mrs. T’s daughter passed me, practically flying out the back door, yelling to Mrs. T’s husband, who is home early: ”You have to go. You have to leave, NOW!” (He left, apparently very confused. lol)

VISIONS – the Women’s Expo wrap up

What a whirlwind this weekend has been—I’m still catching my breath!
I got a phone call on Wednesday, from a lady who wanted to sign me up for an expo this fall. While we were talking, it came out that they still had a couple of booths for their show this weekend, and would be happy to make me a deal if I wanted one. I can’t pass up a bargain, so I spent the next 36 hours or so working on new business cards, a poster, and a couple of flyers.

I managed to get everything done in time and I’m so glad I did—I met lots and lots of really nice people, and I’m fairly certain that a good number of them want to see what I can do for them, so YAY! (Hi, ladies!) : )
I also put together some prizes to give away, and I’ll be posting the winners of those prizes, later tonight (I haven’t had dinner yet!), so stay tuned…. : )

We had Megan, of MegYen Beauty, for makeup, and Desiree, of Chevogue, for hair. They both always do an amazing job, and today was no exception. : )

We’re in full Christmas mode here, so this is actually the perfect time! I have a tree up, and plenty of Christmasy lingerie to play with (bring your own red or white panties, please)!
Until Christmas, all sessions will include a black 5×5, 20 page album. If your session is too close to Christmas to get your album in time, I’ll make you a sneak-peek card to give in its place. Pricing info is here.

Drop-in Boudoir Minis

The holiday season is in full swing now, and schedules are starting to get crazy! There’s no way I’m going to attempt to do another mini-session marathon between now and Christmas (like I could find a weekend that would work for everyone? ), but I know I’m not the only one who waits until closer to Christmas to think about gifts. (I’m not, am I? AM I?? )
For those of you who waited, I can still fit you in! I can come to you for a full session, or you can come to me for a mini-session. (I’m in Allen, just off 75/McDermott.) It’s nothing fancy:

Full sessions start at $500 for 90 minutes. (Email carole@justhersboudoir if you would like the full price list.)
*Until Christmas, all sessions will include a black “leather” 20 page 5×5 album! (I have others available, of course, but they may not arrive in time for Christmas. If you choose one that won’t arrive in time, I’ll give you a sneak-peek card to give while you’re waiting.)
Drop-in Mini-session pricing:
Mini-ONE $150
- 20 minute session-
unlimited outfits (we generally have time for 2-4)
- 5×5 10 page album (imitation black leather cover)
Mini-TWO $275
- 40 minute session
- unlimited outfits (we generally have time 4-8)
- 5×5 20 page album (imitation black leather cover)
Mini-THREE $400
- 60 minute session
- unlimited outfits (we generally have time 6-12)
- 5×5 20 page album (genuine leather or designer fabric cover)
You can also add makeup and/or hair to any of these packages. (Rates vary, depending on who’s available, but start at $60.)
To get your album to you in time for Christmas, we can shoot as late as December 20 for these prices. We can shoot up to December 22, if you’re willing to pay expedited shipping charges from the lab. (You’ll need to pick your album up from me when it’s ready.)
